A Simple Plan
There are two things in life I love: Simplicity and Planning. A Simple Plan! I think when people think of “planning” it conjures up a mental picture of calendars, hard work, complicated methods, and super long lists. But the best kind of plan is simple and NOT overwhelming. All you need is a goal or vision of what you want to accomplish and the steps to get you there. Simple.
There’s a lot of things in life that I want to achieve: be a better friend, save more money, waste less money, eat healthier, spend more time outside, read more books, maintain my home, build a career, the list could go on and on. I’m sure you have a similar list that just kind of floats around in your head as you go about your day.
I believe that if you approach anything in life with a simple plan you’ll accomplish everything you want, be happier & more peaceful, and feel more prepared and confident in yourself.
Unless you are somehow a person who manages to execute everything perfectly on a whim. Which I doubt (Kanye).
Every year that I get older, I learn how to approach & accomplish something better. For example, this year I’ve been focusing on building a mindful wardrobe through simple planning. This accomplishes two things for me: 1) I always feel confident because I’m only wearing clothes I love and 2) it cuts down on impulse buying and saves money. Feeling confident and saving money sound like some good life goals!
If you can approach anything with a little focus and simple planning, you’ll have a great process you can use for the rest of your life. Until of course you need to make adjustments which you can always do because this is your life. But let’s say you decide to tackle just ONE thing this year and you create the best approach/plan for that thing. In 5 years you’d be doing 5 things in your life the best way possible!
As I figure this whole “simple planning” approach out, I decided it’d be fun for me to blog my life goals, projects, plans, etc. to help me figure out what works and doesn’t work, and to share any tips & tricks I learn along the way.
Hope you enjoy!
